What is a SMP Type RF Connector

Summary

The SMP type rf connector is a high-performance miniature connector that supports high frequencies up to 40GHz. The compact connector enables high-density mounting in a small space, not only for wiring inside equipment, but also for connections between sub-assemblies that make up equipment and between equipment. Also, unlike ordinary connectors, the jack side is attached to the cable and the plug side is mounted to the device. The connection method is a push-on method.

Coaxial Cables with SMP Type RF Connectors

Unlike ordinary connectors, the jack side is attached to the cable, and the plug side is mounted to the device. In addition to SMP on both ends, we can also manufacture cable assemblies with a different type of connector attached to one end, so please contact us. You can specify the length and number, and we can manufacture to order. The delivery time varies depending on the number and length.

SMP Type RF Connector FAQ

QWhat are (SB) and (LB) on the PCB receptacle?

A

It represents the strength of the plug's binding force.
SB: Smooth bore No catch on the jack side (weak coupling force)
LD: Limited detent There is catch on the jack side (during coupling force)
FD: Full detent There is catch on the jack side (strong coupling)
There is almost no difference in appearance due to the difference in joint shape. The difference in the coupling part can be seen from the identification groove even from the outside.

For connectors with high binding force, we have prepared a pull-out assist jig.
